David Ritchie has been playing the accordion since he was 5 years old, and entered his first classical competition in Perth at the age of 7, where he took 1st place. Since then, David has went on to win over 60 trophies, including 3 United Kingdom Championships.

He is taught by Djordje Gajic, a former World Champion. His main accordion is a free bass classical accordion. David has continued to be successful in competitions, gaining runner-up in the United Kingdom Virtuoso Championship and qualifying for the CMA Trophée Mondial (World Championships).

In 2003 he graduated from Glasgow Caledonian University with a degree in Public Administration and Management, and was subsequently accepted into a post grad, studying Information Management Systems, graduating in 2004. He is currently undertaking a Recital Diploma from Trinity College, London.
